This is a 6 days 5 nights safari to the southern circuit of the Tanzanian national parks and beautiful destinations, You’ll stay in remote and beautiful safari accommodation including the comfortable Selous Kinga Lodge on the banks of the awesome Rufiji River and at Angalia Tented Camp where you can experience life under canvas while sleeping in a comfortable bed. The wildlife and birds are prolific in Selous and Mikumi so prepare to be wowed and have your camera or binoculars ready at all times.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL DAY
Upon arrival at Mwalimu Nyerere International Airport, you will be met by our Safari specialist and directly transferred to Bahari Beach Hotel/Sea Cliff Hotel for overnight.
DAY 2: DAR ES SALAAM– SELOUS GAME RESERVE
In the morning you’ll be picked up from your hotel and driven to Selous Game Reserve arriving in time for a hot lunch. In the late afternoon, you’ll go on a thrilling boat safari on the Rufiji River where you’ll see hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat. Your guide will also be able to point out interesting birds and plant species during this trip. Accommodation: Selous Kinga Lodge. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
DAY 3 & 4: FULL DAY GAME DRIVE
After breakfast, you’ll have a full day of game viewing in Selous Game Reserve taking a packed lunch with you if you wish to maximize your game drive time. Selous Game Reserve is bigger than Switzerland and Denmark so it takes a long time to explore properly but your guide will know the best places to go. These will be special days spent exploring the wilderness in the biggest game reserve in Africa and viewing diverse wildlife which includes lions, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, elephants, wild dog and so much more. You might even see the rare Sable antelope! Accommodation: Selous Kinga Lodge.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
DAY 5: SELOUS – KILWA
After breakfast, you will be taken to Kilwa to explore the ruins of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and afternoon for leisure (diving facilities available). Kilwa’s significance as a port town is very much evident when you tour the two UNESCO World Heritage Sites with African Mecca i.e. the Ruins of Kisiwani and the Ruins of Songo Mnara (must-see tourist attractions). Kisiwani and Songo Mnara were two port cities located on two different islands off the coast of Kilwa. HB at Kimbilio Lodge
DAY 6 | KILWA – DAR ES SALAAM.
After breakfast at the campsite, you will head to Dar es Salaam town with picnic lunches. You will reach Dar Es Salaam in the late afternoon where you will be taken to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
